Any particular reason for going with the traditional steering vs the over the top or just because you can ? Sorry just saw this message now. The reason is to make the machine easy to work on. I got tired of spending all day trying to wrestle an engine out of the chassis with a steering set up that goes over the engine. I want to be able to pull the engine off with the clutch still on it in 10 minutes. Also I did a similar steering set up on a chassis a while back for Zander and it worked flawlessly it was neat and tidy and completely out of the way. I want to be able to change valve springs and set the valves on a regular basis.

Wow is that ever cool love the hood choice and cow catcher ππ and ya I was thinking over the top steering on mine all along but when you mention the ease of working on the motor it only makes sense to do it that way thanks

Thank you, I was thought nobody would like the cow catcher lol. I always had the latest hoods in the past but thought I would try the retro hood. I picked that hood up in Florida one year and it's been hanging on the wall.

There is a reason why we said no to brakes on jackshaft - brake a chain and the jackshaft brake is useless - Front brakes are not mandatory in outlaw - We need to revisit rules package as this does not meet with prior rules discussion

There has never been a discussion about brakes in Outlaw other than deciding to make front brakes mandatory or recommended. There is nowhere in the rules stating that you can not run brakes on the jack shaft in outlaw nor has there ever been. I do agree that you shouldn't have the brakes on the jack shaft if you don't have front brakes and if that is something that should be added I'm all for it. I think this should be discussed in private and not on my thread.

Although I donβt comment here often I agree ,if you front brakes they would be more than adequate stopping power in the event of a a jack shaft failure. Has a jack shaft brake ever failed ... nope, maybe we should talk about when that happens
